Guess Who’s Getting Suckered at the Olympics?

The Olympics have been around for a long time. They began in Greece, about 700 years before the birth of Christ, as a celebration of the Greek god Zeus. The Olympics continued for another twelve centuries, until they were banned by the Roman emperor Theodosius about 400 years after the birth of Christ. Then the modern Olympics were started up again in 1896, appropriately in Athens, Greece.

Have politics ever entered into this gathering of top athletes from around the globe? You bet. In the 1936 Berlin Olympics, Adolph Hitler sought to use the Olympics to showcase a supposedly utopian Germany under National Socialism, and the superiority of the so-called Aryan race. America’s Jesse Owens dashed Hitler’s plans by leaving Hitler’s Nazi athletes in the dust.

Other examples of politics intersecting with the Olympics would include the boycott by many nations (including the United States) of the 1980 Moscow Olympics to protest the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan; the 1984 boycott of the Los Angeles Olympics by Russia and their satellite countries in response; and of course the Palestinian terror attack on the Israeli Olympic team in Munich, Germany in 1972, which left 11 Israelis dead.

So what injection of politics into today’s Olympics in South Korea am I leading up to? North Korea Kim Jong Un’s cunning use of his sister, Kim Yo-jong, at the current Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. Many in the mainstream media are being played as chumps by North Korea’s evil, murderous, savage regime. Kim Jong Un, and his father and grandfather before him, have kept the vast majority of the population of North Korea in virtual slavery for decades now. This regime imprisons, starves, rapes, tortures, and murders on a daily basis, and it has done so for more than half a century.

And now, as a result of the foolish appeasement of the North Korean regime by both Republican and Democratic administrations over the years, this diabolical regime is on the brink of having the ability to reach our shores with nuclear-tipped intercontinental missiles. North Korea’s current leader, Kim Jong Un, has cleverly sent his sister, Kim Yo-jong, to be the face – a mask really – for this evil regime. And much of the world mainstream press is eating it up.

Among the mainstream press headlines: “Kim Jong Un’s Sister is Stealing the Show at the Winter Olympics,” and “If ‘Diplomatic Dance’ Were an Event at the Winter Olympics, Kim Jong Un’s Sister Would be Favored to Win Gold,” according to CNN. The New York Times’ headline was “Kim Jong Un’s Sister Turns on the Charm, Taking Pence’s Spotlight.” They got to praise the commie and take a shot at a Republican Vice President at the same time. Great. And leave it to good ‘ole Time Magazine to declare “Kim Jong Un’s Sister is Making History at the Olympics.” Big deal. She showed up.

I’m just thoroughly disgusted by the gullible, biased coverage here. As a Republican, and a conservative, I’m used to the bias. Most journalists, especially those who cover politics, are instinctively of The Left. They’re liberal, or progressive if you prefer that term. Some of them realize it – some don’t. But they are.

But fawning over the sister of the murderous dictator Kim Jong Un, and glossing over the true nature of that regime, is an outrage. And those in the media who have allowed themselves to be suckered by the North Korean regime, should be ashamed.
