Merry Christmas

Image-1

It’s Christmas, 2014.  In this week’s blog, rather than write about some heavy topic, like Iran’s nuclear weapons program and Barack Obama’s fecklessness in dealing with it, or North Korea’s hacking into Sony’s computers and Barack Obama’s fecklessness in dealing with it, or Putin’s running amuck in Eastern Europe and Barack Obama’s … well you get the point.

Anyway, I thought I’d forgo opining on such policy issues this week, and instead share with you some old photos from the Chabot family’s Christmases past.  Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did selecting them.

So Merry Christmas to you and all your loved ones.

1 – Circa 1955.  I’m about two-years-old.  Our Christmas tree had to be pretty small, because we lived in a trailer.

2. – 1969.  Donna and I are juniors in high school.  We married four years later, and have been married 41 years now.  (Nice turtleneck, huh.)

3 – 1986.  Four members of Cincinnati City Council bringing Christmas cheer to kids in Price Hill.  (From right to left: The late John Mirlisena, Ken Blackwell, Jim Cissell, and me.)

4 – 1990.  Our daughter Erica and son Randy.

5– 1995.  Family.

6 – 1995.  With my brothers Ron and Dave.  (We were obviously thrilled to receive socks and underwear for Christmas.)

7 – 1998.  Family.

8 – 1998.  The brothers again; this time with our sister, Carol.

9 – 2004.  With the Bushes at the White House Christmas party.
