ABC News, allowing itself to become just another part of the Obama team, was the topic of my blog two days ago. I want to pass along a suggestion made by one of our blog’s readers that I thought was a good idea. If you wish to show your displeasure with ABC’s intention to promote President Obama’s healthcare plan next Wednesday, June 24th, go on the ABC News website’s blog and let them know what you think. This reader had said that he commented that if they went ahead with their pro-Obama program, he would no longer watch anything on the ABC network. What you say of course is totally up to you, as it should be.
A couple of other related points came to light since I wrote the blog Wednesday. First, the mainstream press’s coverage of the Obama/Pelosi healthcare proposal has been overwhelmingly positive: 55% positive stories to 18% negative. No surprise there, but so much for any notion that we get fair and balanced coverage from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN etc.
Second, a review of Federal Election Commission reports has shown that political contributions made by ABC employees went overwhelmingly to Barack Obama over John McCain: $125,000 to $1,500, or about 80 to 1 to Obama.
And third, not only has ABC thus far ignored criticism of their allowing Obama what amounts to an infomercial to promote his government take over of healthcare plan, and not only have they refused to allow participation by those opposed to the plan, ABC is even refusing to allow opponents of the plan to PAY FOR running their own adds during the program.
So is ABC in the tank for Obama? You decide.
