Most people realize that Washington spending is out-of-control. The result of all of that spending is a National Debt hanging over all our heads of $16 trillion. President Obama and most Members of Congress act like they care and want to do something about it.
However, spending under President Obama has increased so rapidly that we’re headed for bankruptcy, yet he has the nerve to run TV ads saying that he’s for reducing the debt.
If a person wants to check how Members of Congress are talking the talk and walking the walk on spending, the best way to check is to see how they are rated by a bi-partisan watchdog group called Citizens Against Government Waste. C.A.G.W. just came out with their scorecard for Congress, all 435 Members, from all 50 states. I’m proud to report that I was tied with two other Members of Congress for the top score in Congress – 98%.
I’ve always believed that people work hard for their money, and their tax dollars sent to Washington ought to be spent wisely and carefully. I will continue to have that attitude so long as I have the privilege to serve the people of the First District of Ohio in the United States House of Representatives.
