2022 – We’re Off!

We’re just a few days into the new year, and I hope it’s been good to you so far. In last week’s blog, I made my annual predictions as to what I thought would happen in the upcoming year.

I’m usually way too optimistic with my Bengals and Reds predictions each year, so I thought I’d be a little more realistic this time around. I predicted the Bengals would make the playoffs (I was right there,) but I said they’d lose to Kansas City on Sunday. Of course I was wrong there, as Burrow and The Who-Deys took down Mahomes and the Chiefs in a real nail-biter (obviously I’m glad I was wrong there!)

One thing I’m pretty sure you can count on for the rest of the year, the Biden administration will continue to overpromise and underperform.

Take COVID for example. Even Democrats would admit that Biden won primarily by hanging the pandemic around President Trump’s neck, and promising to do better if he were elected. Candidate Biden promised to “defeat” the virus, to “kill” it, and to “shut down the virus, not the country.”

Then after forced-masking and forced-vaccines and executive order shutdowns failed to shut down the virus, President Biden announced recently “Look, there is no federal solution…This gets solved at a state level.”

What, Joe?! No federal solution?! You were the guy who endlessly criticized President Trump for supposedly not having a federal plan to defeat COVID! You were the guy who badgered Trump for allegedly relying too much on the states to battle COVID. You were the guy who took credit for the vaccine even though it was Trump’s Operation Warp Speed that got multiple vaccines developed in record time.

And I’d remind you, Joe, more Americans have now died from COVID under your watch, than died during President Trump’s administration. I’m just sayin’…

So what should we expect from Joe Biden in the upcoming year? I’m afraid more of the same. More weakness across the globe that will be taken advantage of by the likes of Vladimir Putin and President Xi. More feckless policies in the Middle East that will be exploited by the mullahs in Iran. More cluelessness at our southern border that will be taken advantage of by the drug cartels. More bungling of the American economy that will result in continued unacceptably high inflation. And more soft-on- crime policies that result in deadly high crime rates.

I hate to paint such an ugly portrait of what the upcoming year is likely to look like in a Biden-led America, but as they say, elections have consequences.

The good news is, help is on the way. It begins in November of this year, and will culminate in November, 2024. Let’s just hope we can hang on that long.
