Biden Falls on Stairs – Press Falls on Face

Joe Biden was ascending the stairs onto Air Force One last Friday. He was holding onto the guard rail. There were no obstructions on the stairway. Suddenly, he tripped and fell. He struggled to get back up; then fell a second time. He tried to get back up again; then fell a third time. Finally, he got up, made it up the stairway, and entered the plane.

Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin

There’s a pretty good chance that you saw this on TV, because FOX News actually showed it in their news coverage. And since you are a reader of this blog, it’s my assumption, a reasonable one I believe, that you are more likely than not a FOX viewer. But most of the public are unlikely to have seen or heard about Biden‘s fall, because the bulk of the mainstream media totally ignored it – covered it up really. As they do, his lack of a news conference since he was sworn in, his total responsibility for the crisis at our southern border, and his other continuing slip ups, like referring to Vice President Harris as president, and forgetting the names of his top people (referring to his Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, as “the guy who runs that outfit over there.”)

How does that compare to when a Republican slips up? I think you know the answer to that. The mainstream press had a field day spinning that President Trump was on his last leg when he gingerly descended a slippery ramp with no handrail at West Point. Hey, he’s a Republican and here’s a chance to make him look bad (even though candidate Biden was hiding in his basement virtually the whole campaign.)

And let’s face it, making Republicans look bad when they slip or fall is nothing new. Bob Dole fell off a stage when he was reaching down to shake hands at a campaign event. It was played over and over by a giddy mainstream press. He certainly didn’t get a pass like Joe Biden has gotten. (Dole subsequently lost to Bill Clinton.)

Gerald Ford‘s slip ups (coincidentally on an airplane ramp just like Joe Biden) were made the stuff of legend. Saturday Night Live’s Chevy Chase made a career out of exaggerating President Ford’s falls on the show, and the networks repeated the clips of Ford’s actual falls and Chase’s mimicry over and over. (Ford went on to lose to Jimmy Carter in the Fall – pun intended.)

Here’s why this matters. The public gets its information on what’s going on through the prism of the news coverage, as well as to a growing degree from social media through platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc. And the mainstream media is so biased nowadays that the coverage they get is from a dependably left-leaning perspective. And the social media platforms have been so far to the left that they are silencing/canceling conservative thought like never before. That’s making it harder and harder for a conservative point of view to be expressed in today’s culture. It’s not impossible, but it’s hard, and getting harder.

And then there are complaints from conservatives to conservative leaders and office holders that “you’re not fighting hard enough,” or “you’re not speaking out loudly enough.” Often we are, but the mainstream media just doesn’t cover it.

One other thing – it’s that time again. The end of the quarter. In one week, March 31 to be exact, candidates for Congress (like myself) must report how much we’ve raised for our campaigns over the most recent quarter.

Nancy Pelosi and her liberal cohorts have dumped millions and millions of dollars into the last several attempts to defeat me, and replace me with a liberal/progressive. We can’t let that happen, so I’d again appreciate your help.

You can contribute by clicking here, or you can send a check to Chabot for Congress, 5750 Given Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45243. I greatly appreciate your support. Sorry I have to ask for your help periodically, but if I didn’t ask, and you didn’t help, Pelosi would be even stronger, and more destructive than she is.

Our goal is to win the House back this next election so we can stop the Pelosi/ Schumer/Biden/Bernie Sanders/AOC policies prevailing in Washington right now, and put us back on the path to a stronger economy, less wasteful spending, lower taxes, and more freedom.

Thank you, and see you next week.
