Biden’s Budget Busting Boondoggle

Presidents who want to hide things and get as little media coverage as possible about them release that information on Friday afternoons. If they REALLY want to hide it, they do it on a Friday before a holiday weekend. Well, the current occupant of the Oval Office did just that last Friday afternoon, before Memorial Day weekend.

And what was he trying to hide? That his budget was so gargantuan that it tops $6 trillion a year, and will exceed $8 trillion per year within a decade. And if that’s not bad enough, the details within the budget are a nightmare.

For example, at a time when our greatest threat and rival, Communist China, is dramatically increasing its military budget, and getting more and more aggressive, Biden’s budget leaves our military spending flat, even reducing it in many areas, but grows exponentially virtually every non-defense part of the budget. As commander-in-chief, Biden‘s principal responsibility is to make sure that our nation is adequately defended. With this budget, he fails miserably in that effort.

Unfortunately, spending on virtually everything else goes up year after year – a lot. In fact, spending goes up so much that not only does the budget never balance, but the budget deficit every year is more than $1 trillion, for the next 10 years.

This irresponsible deficit spending is already causing the highest inflation we’ve seen in decades. For example, we’ve seen groceries go up 21%, sugar go up 54%, gas at the pump go up 71%, and lumber go up a whopping 318%! Why is this happening? Biden and the Democrats’ unprecedented spending, and the printing of money to pay for it, makes the money already out there in the economy (and in your wallet) less valuable, so the cost of everything you buy with that money goes up; in other words, inflation. That’s another reason why actually balancing the budget is so important (and why I have once again introduced the Balanced Budget Amendment this Congress.)

Biden’s budget also calls for huge tax increases on businesses and on individuals. The business tax hikes will kill a huge number of jobs. And even though Biden claims his individual tax hikes will only be on those who make over $400,000 per year, his budget calls for the Republican-passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act tax cuts to expire in 2025. And since about 85% of the American people who pay taxes had their taxes cut by that bill, taxes would go up on virtually everyone, including all those making under $400,000 per year. And that’s the last thing we ought to be doing.

Biden’s awful budget also gets rid of Hyde Amendment protections, which have for decades now prevented tax dollars from going towards paying for abortions. This is repugnant to half the taxpayers of this country who are pro-life. And of course it’s literally deadly to the most vulnerable among us – the unborn.

I could go on, but that gives you a taste of why it’s so important that we end the total control of this nation by the left. Let’s end this madness before they totally wreck the economy and the country.
