In last week’s blog, “Political Whoppers”, I discussed some of the dumbest things politicians have ever said. “We’ve got to pass the bill to find out what’s in it,” “if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor,” and “read my lips, no new taxes” were part of the discussion. And I added Joe Biden‘s recent claim that $5 trillion or so in new spending would “cost zero dollars” to the list. Well now Joe’s gone and done it again.
Last week in Michigan, our fearless leader claimed that anyone who doesn’t support the crazy Bernie Sanders/AOC/Nancy Pelosi/Chuck Schumer/“human infrastructure“/Green New Deal/free college for illegal immigrants/ spending bill is “complicit in America’s decline.”
I’m not kidding. He actually said that. Those of us who are unwilling to add trillions and trillions of dollars of new debt, onto an already unsustainable $29 trillion national debt hanging over our heads, are “complicit in America’s decline.”
But then of course “the cost is zero.” When will this insanity stop?
It’s Joe Biden and his Democrat socialist allies who are complicit in America‘s decline. Just look at what they’ve done since Biden entered the White House and the Dems took over complete control of Congress.
They’ve reversed the huge progress Republicans had made in recent years towards energy independence. They did this by shutting down the Keystone Pipeline. By closing off gas and oil exploration on national lands. By making fracking more difficult. And by pushing radical left-wing Green New Deal environmental policies. And as a result, we’ve seen prices at the pump spike 71% compared to this time last year.
Joe Biden and the Democrats have further contributed to the decline of America by reversing all the progress the previous administration had made in securing our southern border. “Come on in – the border is open” is now the message that’s gone out far and wide. “Remain in Mexico” is out. “Catch and release” is back in. Building the wall has stopped – and the materials taxpayers already paid for lie rusting on the ground. The predictable result is illegal immigrants streaming across the border in record numbers.
And our foreign policy is a shambles. The Afghanistan debacle in my view is the worst foreign affairs blunder in the history of our country. President Biden ignored the advice of his generals (and either lied about it or doesn’t remember) and pulled all US troops out, resulting in the Taliban taking over the country. Afghanistan will now be a safe haven for terrorists from across the globe to gather and plot against us and our allies, and use $85 billion worth of American military equipment against us.
So if you want to see who’s responsible for America’s decline, Joe Biden, take a look in the mirror.
