If the Democrats Win – Get Ready for Impeachment

Democrats, for the most part, hate Donald Trump. There are, of course, a few exceptions. And there are a few Republicans, and a fair number of Independents, who don’t care for him either. But most Democrats – they think he’s gotta go.

And I have very little doubt, that if Democrats win back the House of Representatives in a couple months, their base will push them to get rid of this President. They’ll allege Russian collusion, or obstruction of justice, or something else, or all of the above. But the Trump-haters will have no rest until they have their pound of flesh.

Most Democratic candidates, especially incumbents, are avoiding the topic. They think their base is already motivated to come out and vote this year. Their concern is that if they talk too much about impeachment, it might rev up the Republican turnout. And all things being equal, the party who didn’t win the presidency in the most recent presidential election (the Democrats), usually does much better in the next Congressional election.

There are a few Democratic Members of Congress who apparently didn’t get the memo, and are loudly and energetically calling for Trump’s head. Among these are Congresswoman Maxine Waters of California, Brad Sherman also of California, and Al Green of Texas. Maxine has probably been the most vocal, and arguably the most honest. She REALLY hates President Trump, and she lets you know it. Here’s what she had to say as recently as this past weekend. “There’s a difference in how some of our leadership talk about how we should handle all of this. They say ‘Maxine, please don’t say impeachment anymore.’ And when they say that, I say ‘impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment.’”

Just who is this “leadership” to whom she refers? Well, it’s Nancy Pelosi, and her top Democrat lieutenants in the House. As I’ve said before, Nancy Pelosi has been measuring the drapes (figuratively) in the Speaker’s office since Donald Trump won the presidency. And she doesn’t want anything (or anyone) to get in the way of her restoration to the throne (so to speak.) That’s why Pelosi is trying to hush up talk about impeachment – until the day after the election (if the Democrats win.) Then we wouldn’t hear much of anything else for the next two years.

So intent is Pelosi on winning back the Speaker’s office, that she’s allowing her minions (Democratic Congressional candidates around the country) to distance themselves from her, if they think such distance is politically expedient. Conor Lamb in Pennsylvania, who was the one successful Democratic candidate to actually win a truly contested House special election this cycle, famously said he wouldn’t support Pelosi for Speaker if he was elected. Other Democrat Congressional copycat candidates, like my opponent, boldly (HA!) announced that they wouldn’t support Pelosi either. That hasn’t stopped Pelosi and her big money allies from pouring money into those intrepid candidates’ races (like my opponent’s.) Shows just how seriously (NOT) Pelosi and her people take those public declarations by Democrat candidates.

Of course for any of this to matter to us locally, two things would have to occur. One, the Democrats would have to win back the House. And two, Aftab Pureval would have to beat me. And I do not believe either of those is going to happen (especially the second thing!)

But I can assure you, I am not taking this race lightly. I’ve had tough races and tough opponents before. Among them were David Mann, Roxanne Qualls, John Cranley twice, and Steve Driehaus twice (he beat me one of the two.) And if I’m going to be successful this time, I need your help.

And I know what you’re thinking. Here it comes; he’s going to ask for money. Well, you’re right. It takes money to pay for those TV ads, yard signs, banner-pulling planes at the Harvest Home Parade last Thursday, etc. And since I don’t have a bunch of left-wing Hollywood actors, or labor bosses, or George Soros, or impeachment-pushing billionaires like Tom Steyer, supporting me, I depend on solid, normal folks like yourself to fund my campaign.

So if it’s possible, would you consider (clicking here) and making a contribution to help fund my campaign, or you can mail a check to 220 Findlay St. Cincinnati Ohio, 45202.

Sorry I have to ask for financial help to fund my campaign every so often, but it’s necessary, or we’re going to have a left-winger voting for us in Congress. Someone who thinks we should raise taxes, open our borders, allow sanctuary cities to spread across America, and that ObamaCare is just great. We can’t let that happen.

Thanks for your help. And I’ll see you next week.
