Impeachment – The First Order of Business if Democrats Take Back the House

Over 70% of Democrats, according to recent polling, want President Trump impeached. And if Democrats take over the House of Representatives as a result of the election this November, you can be assured that the Democrat base will push Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her minions to do just that.

Let’s listen to some current Democrat Members of Congress, who have admittedly been more outspoken than most of their colleagues on the matter. Here’s California Democrat Maxine Waters: “I say it is time to get ready for impeachment.” Texas Democrat Al Green says “Mr. Trump needs to be impeached for sowing discord among the people of the United States.” And Democrat Brad Sherman of California, who actually introduced Articles of Impeachment against President Trump, said “I am introducing Articles of Impeachment to begin a long process to protect our country from abuse of power, obstruction of justice, and impulsive, ignorant incompetence.”

And you’ve no doubt seen billionaire radical environmentalist Tom Steyer’s ads on TV calling for President Trump’s impeachment. He’s spent tens of millions of dollars in recent years attacking Republicans and boosting Democrats all over the country. He even brought his road show to Cincinnati several months back, where he met with my Democrat opponent and about a hundred other people in Clifton. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer story covering the meeting, one attendee commented about President Trump “I think he’s dangerous. I think he’s going to end up getting us into a nuclear war, because of the way he talks to people.” That’s an interesting view of things, now that Trump’s tough talk with North Korea and China may just be paying off in upcoming talks with Kim Jong Un concerning denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

The bottom line is, when people go to the polls this November, one of the key things a lot of people will be asking themselves is – is the best use of our time, impeaching our President for … well, for what exactly? Questionable behavior with a porn star ten years before he became president, and maybe being less than truthful about it? I know, I know, Bill Clinton… But Clinton was under oath, and he perjured himself.

Collusion with Russia? As a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, it’s my responsibility to say, let’s wait until all the evidence is in. But thus far, there sure doesn’t seem to be much evidence that there’s a there there.

So if you care about what’s in the best interest of our country, would you rather your elected representatives in Washington spend their time focused on implementing policies that will continue to move our economy forward? Policies such as cutting taxes, reducing burdensome regulations, and creating more jobs for more Americans, which have resulted in the lowest unemployment levels we’ve seen in nearly two decades? Or would you rather we focus the next several years on impeaching our president?

If Democrats take over the House, get ready for impeachment.
