Inflation, Inflation, Inflation

There’s an expression in the real estate world to describe what’s most important when considering the value of a property: location, location, location. Realtors will tell you those are the first, second and third most important considerations. Now that may be somewhat of an exaggeration to emphasize a point, but location is clearly important.

In this important 2022 election cycle, I’d have to say that inflation is likely to play that role, and be on the minds of many voters as they cast their ballots. And Democrats‘ policies are directly responsible for the fact that we’re seeing inflation rates at 40 year highs. And unfortunately people across-the-board are being hurt by those policies, and the resulting high cost of virtually everything.

The Democrats under Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden began by reversing the energy independence we had finally achieved. They killed the Keystone XL pipeline, but thought it was a great idea to allow a pipeline from Russia into Europe to move forward (the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.) They fought fracking. They made it virtually impossible to explore or drill for energy in the United States. They passed more and more regulations. And prices at the pump spiked.

As we all know, it’s not just the price of gasoline that went up. It’s everything else we buy too. Because as high as gasoline went up, diesel went up even higher. And trucks use diesel. And virtually everything everyone purchases has been transported by a truck. And that result in higher prices on everything. And more pain for all of us – rich, poor, or in the middle.

Interestingly, when my Democrat opponent this election cycle, a guy named Greg Landsman, was asked by a reporter recently what he thought was the top issue facing the people of our congressional district, inflation not only wasn’t his top issue, it didn’t even make the top three. Even though inflation is hurting so many people in our community, he apparently doesn’t know it, or doesn’t care.

But I guess that’s not surprising when you consider that not only does he agree with Nancy Pelosi on just about everything, but he used to work for her.

On City Council, he voted to raise taxes – 8 times. And he agreed with the Washington Democrats’ plan not only to dramatically raise our federal taxes, but to hire an additional 87,000 IRS agents to make our lives even more miserable.

The bottom line is, inflation is a critical problem which is hurting people in the Greater Cincinnati area and across the country – whether some politicians care about it or not. And it’s high time we reverse the policies which put us in this mess.

That reversal begins November 8 (election day) by taking the power away from Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and their leftist followers.
