Is it Really Putin’s Price Hike?

Look, I’ll cut to the chase. No it’s not. The Biden administration, Democrats in Congress, and many of their sycophants in the mainstream press, are trying to convince the American people that higher prices at the pump, and higher prices at the grocery store and everywhere else, are solely Vladimir Putin‘s fault.

Well, certainly the spike at the pump over the last few weeks is related to Russia’s unprovoked attack on Ukraine. That’s obvious.

But Joe Biden was sworn in as president a little over a year ago. And at that time, the average price of a gallon of gas in the US was $2.39. It’s now $4.33 and likely to go up further. This didn’t just happen when Putin attacked. It’s been going up steadily since the day Biden took office.

It’s no coincidence that on that very first day, Biden killed the Keystone XL pipeline from our friendly northern neighbor Canada into the United States. And it’s no coincidence that Biden‘s Green New Deal zealots have, since day one, been doing everything they could to choke off fossil fuel energy production in the United States. Rather than an all-of-the-above, energy-independence policy, they’ve been pushing their fairy dust, unicorn, windmills-everywhere, drilling-nowhere, anti-fracking, everyone-into-electric-cars energy policy. And we’re all paying the price.

And not just at the pump. Way before international-thug Putin began brutalizing the heroic Ukrainians, inflation across-the-board in the United States had shot up to nearly 8%. That was already the highest inflation rate we’d seen in 40 years.

So don’t be fooled by the Biden administration’s lame attempt to blame higher prices on Putin. Yes, he’s solely responsible for the bloodshed in Ukraine. But this administration’s war on American energy production, and it’s out of control spending, are responsible for higher prices and inflation.

And one other thing. Nancy Pelosi and Washington Democrats announced last week that they’ve put my race into the so-called “Red to Blue” category (Republican to Democrat.) In practical terms, it means they’ll spend a lot of money attacking me and distorting my record in TV ads and elsewhere. We’ve seen it before, it’s nothing new, but it does mean I need to raise sufficient funds to get the truth out about whatever vicious lies they’ll be peddling this time.

I have to report how much I’ve raised by the end of this month, March 31st, which is only a few weeks off. I’d really appreciate your help, and you can contribute online, or by sending a check to Chabot for Congress, 5750 Given Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45243.

Thanks in advance for your generous support.  And I’ll see you next week.
