Judge President Biden by his Actions, Not by his Words

Joe Biden gave his inaugural address and was sworn in as our 46th president last week on the west front of the Capitol building, the same as every president since Ronald Reagan. Prior to Reagan, our new presidents were sworn in on the east front of the building.

He gave a nice speech. Well-known celebrity performers like Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks sang nice songs (although I think Garth‘s version of Amazing Grace would have been better if backed up by the military band that was there.)

But back to President Biden‘s words. What he said was nice, reassuring, even encouraging. For example, he spoke especially fervently about the need for, and his commitment to, unity.

Here are a few examples of what he said:

“My whole soul is in this: bringing America together, uniting our people, uniting our nation.”

“To restore the soul and secure the future of America requires…unity.”

“With unity, we can do great things, important things. We can put people to work in good jobs.”

Then he did the exact opposite. He signed an executive order killing the Keystone XL pipeline. Killing thousands and thousands of great jobs – jobs that employed real people.

In fact, Biden signed a series of executive orders in the first few days of his presidency which do not unify our nation. They will only drive us further apart.

There was no consultation beforehand. No meetings, no phone calls with Republicans or anyone else who wasn’t firmly on board with this leftist agenda.

Besides killing all those jobs with the Keystone veto, here are a few more examples of other disunifying executive orders. Biden announced he is re-joining the woefully flawed Paris Climate Agreement. This disaster will allow China to continue to spew pollutants and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, while unfairly hindering American job creation. This despite the fact that the vast majority of signers of the Paris Accord aren’t currently meeting their commitments, and the United States has done a better job reducing greenhouse gases outside the agreement than any nation in it. It’s estimated that 2.7 million American jobs will be lost as a result of rejoining the fiasco.

Another outrageous executive order – President Biden is stopping any ongoing construction of the border wall. This announcement has already inspired the infamous caravans to begin organizing once again to head for our southern border. The wall has had a dramatically positive impact on reducing the amount of illegal immigration into our country. Unfortunately, that’s all going to change. And with Biden/Schumer/Pelosi now in control of US Customs and Border Protection, God help us all.

These are but 3 of the 20 or so executive orders Joe Biden signed over the past week. By the way, that’s far more than his predecessors, Presidents Trump, Obama, Bush, or Clinton. So what does this tell us about Joe Biden‘s rhetoric about unifying the country? In my opinion, that it was just a lot of hot air. He said he wants to unify the country, and then immediately enacts a far-left agenda that will alienate half the country.

We must judge our new president, Joe Biden, by what he does, not by what he says.
