Labor Day

A couple days ago we celebrated Labor Day across America. Labor Day is widely recognized as the end of summer, even though fall doesn’t officially begin for another two weeks – September 22 to be exact. Labor Day is a day to recognize how much we owe to the American worker.

Politically speaking, Democrats have felt that they were the party of labor – of working class people. In fact they pretty much took them for granted. Democrats were free to use and abuse hard-working Americans – they did it with impunity. Democrats assumed they had their votes locked up, no matter what they did.

Democrats were wrong.

Working class people are more and more voting for the party that truly shares their values – the Republican Party. Workers are tired of being taken advantage of – of being taken for granted.

They are tired of being lied to. They’re tired of having their taxes raised. They’re tired of illegal aliens crossing our southern border and taking their jobs. They’re tired of paying for social services for others who won’t support themselves. They’re tired of being called “domestic terrorists” for taking an interest in their children’s education. They’re tired of being victims of crime that resulted from soft-on-crime prosecutors and judges. They’re tired of paying higher and higher prices at the grocery store because Democrats in Washington won’t stop spending money like it grows on trees. They’re tired of paying so much at the gas pump because Democrats reversed policies which had made us energy-independent. They’re tired of disastrous foreign-policy decisions which have made us less safe on the world stage. And they’re tired of a president and congressional leaders who decided to turn an additional 87,000 IRS agents loose on them to make their lives even more miserable.

The hard-working people of this country have had it. And I believe the vast majority of them will make the obvious decision this fall, and take power away from the Democrats who have screwed things up so royally, and give Republicans a chance to straighten things out.

Republicans stand for sane budgets, lower taxes, energy independence, safer streets, personal responsibility, quality education, and opportunity for all. Another way of putting it – Republicans are for making America great again.

And it can’t happen soon enough.
