Lies and Deception

Last week was the 32nd anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre. The year was 1989, and thousands of peaceful Chinese civilians, most of them young people and students, were gathered in Beijing seeking reform, democracy and freedom. The Chinese government, rather than listen to their own people, sent in the tanks, and brutally mowed down and literally crushed thousands of innocent people.

And since that day, rather than acknowledge the truth of what happened, the Chinese Communist Party has sought to erase any memory of the slaughter. Any mention of the Tiananmen Square Massacre is censored on the Internet and on any media outlet in China. Commemorative gatherings are banned. Any attempts to violate the total blackout of the memory of Tiananmen Square are met with imprisonment or worse.

But the Chinese Communist Party’s disdain for the truth is not restricted to Tiananmen Square. We’ve seen the same cover-up most recently extended to the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since this virus first broke out in Wuhan, China, the Chinese Communist Party has done everything within its power to cover-up it’s true origin. Scientists were imprisoned. Doctors were “disappeared.” Physical evidence was destroyed. Travel within China was restricted, but travel to other countries across the globe (allowing the virus to spread internationally) was fine.

Of course deception comes naturally to the CCP. They have at least 1 million Uighurs in the equivalent of concentration camps in Xinjiang Province, in conditions which the world has finally labeled genocide. Uighurs are indoctrinated, starved, tortured and murdered, but the CCP says they’re merely being “re-educated.”

And practitioners of meditation and exercises, known as the Falun Gong, have been imprisoned, slaughtered, and had their organs stolen and sold for profit by the government. Of course the CCP denies it all.

The bottom line is, the Chinese Communist Party has been lying to the world for decades now, and for the most part has gotten away with it. This has got to stop. It was bad enough when China was an undeveloped, rather backwards country. But now that they are rapidly on their way to becoming the world’s largest economy, and potentially the most militarily powerful country, and therefore able to impose its will on the rest of the world, they must be stopped and held accountable.

To allow them to continue with their malevolent behavior is unacceptable. The fate of the world is in the balance.
