Love it or Leave it

The United States is the greatest nation the world has ever known. And that includes the ancient Greek civilization, and the Roman too, in my humble opinion. And that’s not just because we won more gold medals and overall medals than any other nation at the recently held Olympics in Tokyo, including the Chinese who have four times more people than we do, (although I’m sure glad we did!)

But despite our nation’s greatness, there’s always somebody who’s anxious to run us down. For example, proponents of critical race theory say we’re all a bunch of racists. An athlete at the Olympic trials turned her back on the American flag during the playing of the National Anthem and pulled an “activist athlete” T-shirt over her head, claiming “the anthem doesn’t speak for me. It never has.” (She failed to medal at the Olympics, coming in 11th out of 12 contenders.) And then, of course, there’s the disrespectful “taking a knee” by the US women’s soccer team.

Celebrities that once said they would move to Canada if Trump won in 2016.

Despite the criticism the United States receives from her many detractors, there aren’t a lot of people fleeing OUR country (even though quite a few Hollywood leftists had sworn they’d leave the country if Donald Trump were ever elected president. Well, he was, and they didn’t.) To the contrary, we’ve got record numbers of people from all over the globe who want to come here (both legally, and unfortunately, illegally.) If we were such a bad country as our critics claim, why would so many people make such an effort to come here?

Now I AM a strong proponent of immigration – LEGAL immigration. After all, every one of us is descendent from people who came to this country from somewhere else (unless you’re 100% Native American.) But to break our laws, enter this country illegally, and demand to receive all the benefits of American citizenship, is flat out wrong, in my opinion. And the Biden border policies have made this practice far worse than it was under the previous administration.

Joe Biden and Department of Homeland Security, Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Next to the President himself, the person most directly responsible for enforcing American immigration laws (and who is failing to do so) is the head of the Department of Homeland Security, Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Under Mayorkas’ leadership (or lack thereof), we have seen illegal immigration spike to unprecedented levels. Why? Because he’s reversed President Trump’s successful border policies, terminated almost all deportations, and gone so far as to ban the use of the term “alien.”

So what can be done? Since we are stuck with Biden (or Kamala Harris God help us) until the election of 2024, let’s at least get rid of Mayorkas. And my compliments to Congressman Andy Biggs, who’s congressional district runs along the Arizona/ Mexican border, for announcing last week that he’s filing articles of impeachment against Mayorkas (I intend to join Congressman Biggs in this effort.) Let’s hold these government officials accountable for failing to perform the duties which are their responsibility.

Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs

Realistically, what are the chances of success? Well, Democrats are in the majority in the House, and with Kamala Harris’s tie-breaking vote, in the Senate, so the odds of actually impeaching Mayorkas, and subsequently removing him from office, are not good. But since the mainstream press have been totally ignoring the Biden crisis-at the-southern-border, this might just be a way to draw attention to the crisis, and actually do something about it. We’ll see.

So in conclusion, may God bless the greatest nation the world has ever known, the United States of America. The one that everyone wants to come to, and live in, even if some critics still love to hate it. See you next week.
