More Fake Impeachment

The Democrat base hates President Trump. With a passion. Democrats in Congress are trying to keep the Trump-haters satisfied. They do this by acting like they’re moving forward on impeachment, when they’re really not.

The latest example of this took place last week in the Judiciary Committee. (I’ve been a member of the committee for 23 years now.) The Democrats on the committee decided to pass a resolution, laying out the procedures that would be followed for an impeachment investigation. But wait a minute. This is not the way it’s supposed to be done.

The Dems have decided to throw out 200 years of precedent on impeachment. The first step is supposed to be for the House of Representatives to authorize the Judiciary Committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry. But they don’t have the votes. So they didn’t do it. They just went straight to the committee and told them to look busy on impeachment, by passing stuff that sounds like impeachment, but really isn’t.

I know, I know, this probably sounds like inside-the-beltway, Washington gobbledygook. But I try to let you know what the Dems are up to, as you’re usually not going to see it in the mainstream press.

It’s really a shame that Congressional Democrats hate this president so much. Because we’d be able to accomplish so much more for the American people with their cooperation. Despite their opposition, here’s a partial list of the Trump Administration’s achievements thus far: more Americans employed than any time in history; unemployment not this low in 50 years; 4 million fewer people need food stamps; the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is working; opened Anwar and the Keystone Pipeline; dramatic reduction in regulations (cut red tape); withdrew the US from the job-killing Paris Climate Accord; strengthened the military; got Gorsuch and Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court; withdrew from the lousy Iran Deal; moved the US Embassy to Jerusalem; concluded the USMCA trade deal to replace NAFTA; and defeated ISIS.

That ought to be a pretty impressive set of accomplishments by anyone’s standard. Yet an awful lot of Democrats hate this president, and are bound and determined to get rid of him. Even though they don’t have the evidence (no collusion, no obstruction); and they don’t have the votes.
