My Predictions for 2022

Well we’ll be looking at 2021 in the rearview mirror in just a couple days, so what’s in store for us in the upcoming year? You’ve come to the right place. It’s time for me to predict what’s going to happen in 2022. Here goes.

First, I’m such a homer that I’m typically far too optimistic in my predictions about the Reds and Bengals. So relative to the Bengals, who soundly defeated an injury-ravaged Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday, here’s my prediction. We unfortunately succumb to the Mahone-led Kansas City Chiefs this upcoming weekend, but bounce back to defeat the Cleveland Browns the following weekend, which will be enough to get us into the playoffs for the first time in awhile. As far as making it all the way to the Super Bowl, I’m afraid that may be a bridge-too-far with our current offensive line. In order to get to, much less win, a Super Bowl, we’re going to have to protect Joe Burrow much better, and let him work his magic. I’m afraid we’re just not there yet. (Hope I’m wrong.)

Prediction #2 – the Reds. They had a pretty special season this past year, even though they didn’t make it into the postseason. I think they’ll have another good year in 2022, and this time they’ll actually make it into the postseason. (Hope I’m right on this one.)

Prediction #3, Republicans come storming back and retake the House of Representatives. The Democrats’ policies have been disastrous for the country, and the American people are sick of their excuses. Pelosi loses the gavel, and announces that she’s retiring.

Prediction #4, As for your’s truly, the Democrats have been trying to defeat me and install a liberal/progressive in this swing seat for years. They’ll try and fail again this time. And with your help, I’ll be reelected once again, and do my best to serve the people of the greatest congressional district in the country, the First Congressional District of Ohio!

Prediction #5, COVID continues to hang on, and the Biden administration continues to bungle the effort against it. Joe Biden got elected President largely through blaming Donald Trump for all the COVID deaths during his administration, and then watched the death toll on his own watch reach, then exceed, the previous administration’s. Biden needs a scapegoat, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dr. Fauci’s head on the chopping block.

Prediction #6, attempts to patch up the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris relationship will be made – but will fail. Harris has been an unmitigated disaster as vice president. Every project they’ve tried to stick her with has been a flop. Biden wanted to stay as far away from the border mess they’ve created as possible, so he put her in charge of fixing it. What a disaster! Her feckless search for “root causes” was ridiculed by an even reliably supportive mainstream press. Look for more clueless embarrassments over the upcoming year.

Prediction #7, Russia’s Putin and China’s Xi will continue to test just how far they can push this administration, short of out and out war. We’re currently seeing that play out in Ukraine and Taiwan. Joe Biden‘s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan sent out an unmistakable message to the world’s bad actors that this administration is weak. We’ll pay a heavy price for that.

Prediction #8, inflation will continue to be unacceptably high, and the American consumer will suffer as a result. Biden and the Democrats are directly responsible for this. They were warned that their big-spending policies would cause this, and they have. Democrats will pay for it at the polls in the upcoming election.

Prediction #9, crime will continue to be unacceptably high in cities all across America. The Left has blamed police, rather than criminals, for record levels of crime. Efforts to defund police have hurt police morale and have discouraged proactive police work. Civil unrest and rioting, even anarchists taking over whole neighborhoods was okay with many Democrat elected officials. Liberal prosecutors funded by the likes of George Soros were elected, and now we’re reaping what’s been sown. Crime will remain high as long as the leftists are in control.

And finally, Prediction #10, the Senate race in Ohio. Rob Portman of course caused a political firestorm when he announced he would not seek reelection to his Senate seat. The Democrats pretty quickly coalesced around congressman Tim Ryan, but Republicans have had a barnburner of a race to pick our candidate (you’ve probably seen their ads on TV over the past few months, and I’m sure will continue to see them through May of next year when the primary takes place.) I’m not going to predict which Republican will prevail, but I will predict that after an exceedingly hard-fought race, the Republican nominee will beat Tim Ryan, and hold the Senate seat for Republicans.

That will be critical in Republican efforts to win back control of the US Senate next year, which is a bit of a heavier-lift than taking back the House, which I’ve already predicted (see Prediction #3.)

Anyway, there you have it, my 10 predictions for 2022. More importantly, I hope you and your family have a very healthy and prosperous 2022. May God bless you, your family, and the United States of America!

Happy New Year!
