Top Waste Cutter

The mission of Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) is to eliminate waste, mismanagement, and inefficiency in Washington.  It is a private, non-partisan, non-profit organization, that has over 1 million members and supporters across America.

For the last 25 years, they have kept a close eye on Congress, and examined vote by vote, which of our elected representatives have voted for wasteful spending, and which have voted against it.  They are, by the way, the organization that publishes the Pig Book, that highlights particularly egregious examples of pork-barrel spending.

Citizens Against Government Waste has just released its ratings for the first session of the 113th Congress (which covers all of 2013.)  They identified 80 votes in Congress as illustrative of wasteful spending.

I am pleased to report that of the 435 Members of the United States House of Representatives, I had the highest score for voting against what CAGW considered to be wasteful spending – 99%.  In case you were wondering, the average score for Republicans in the House was 79%.  The average score for Democrats in the House was 13%.

It’s always been my belief that you know how to spend your money more efficiently than the government does.

Just thought you’d like to know.
